Resettlement Services

Resettlement means that when women and children leave refuge or have to move home due to domestic violence they may be very anxious and unsure of what lies ahead.

Foyle Women's Aid offers ongoing contact and support through the service of a Resettlement Worker

Resettlement assistance may be needed in settling into an area for example by helping to locate GP’s, schools, local support services and so on. This worker offers support and information in a range of ways and can help you feel safe and supported during and after your move.

Resettlement Services include:
  1. Assistance with maintaining security and safety or your home
  2. Supporting you to understand the terms of the License/Tenancy Agreement
  3. Help with finances, assistance claiming benefit, signposting appropriate agencies
  4. Information and advocacy and liaison with agencies and assistance in arranging appointments
  5. Support with developing your confidence and signposting training, education and other support networks
  6. A point of contact for you as often as you'd like
  7. A running calendar of "Drop in" events at the local outreach centre Pathways
  8. Information regarding events, support programmes and training events
  9. Acting as a research point to find out information needs you may have on a range of issues.
