What is court advocacy?
  • Providing court support to women who need to attend court on any issue related to domestic violence.
    Women may need to attend court about:
    1. Child contact
    2. Non molestation and occupancy orders
    3. Residency orders separation and divorce assault and rape
Benefits of the Service
  1. A confidential support service around your legal needs.
  2. A private waiting room in the court area
  3. A private consultation room in the court for you and your legal representative
  4. Refreshments in this private location
  5. A court support worker to help clarify information you have been given during the process
  6. Someone who is familiar with the court and its processes
  7. A pre court visit if you so wish
  8. Access to the Pathways Outreach Centre before and after court if necessary
  9. Access to Domestic Violence Officers in the Pathways Centre to find out information on their service
  10. Advice on how to make statements if you so wish
  11. Accompany you to solicitors
  12. Sign posting to other relevant services and experts to support you e.g. forensic accountants etc
